Shooting Tutorials Anyone?

I’m planning on doing some basic lighting set up and shooting technique tutorials and giving them a home here on thinjeffery.com. If there are any images in particular you want to find out how I shot, copy the link to that address and paste it into the comments below.

I also just got a new bracket that will allow me to mount my camera flash on a light stand and use it with an umbrella. Should be great for things like outdoor shots or in places where it’s just not practical to bring in my studio strobes.

Oh, and I’m probably going to give away a brand new 8GB iPod Touch.

This could be fun.

I jus rewrote the copy on my Rates page. I wasn’t fully satisfied with the way I came across before. It was a little too formal and a little too cliche. Frankly, it was boring and it just didn’t seem like me.

You know what I’m really looking forward to? Netflix coming to Canada. I’m going to sign up on launch day and make extensive use of their streaming video. I have to have something to watch while I’m editing photos. It keeps me sane.

It's been a while...

So, it’s been a while since there’s been an update on ThinkJeffery.com. I got quite busy with completing my degree and since then I’ve just been enjoying some time in which I’ve barely worked, and just chilled.

I definitely fit some shoots in there though, and have worked with about five new models. You’ll find a few new pictures in most of the people sub-categories. Especially be sure to check out the first two pictures in the
Lingerie category. The lovely Mya flew in from Vancouver to shoot with me. Beautiful photos were the result. I might go so far as to say that I got some of my favourites that I’ve ever shot. Especially this one.

Another Update

I added a couple pictures I just finished editing to the Glamour album, and at excited suggestion of a friend I added three more photos to the Retouching page. Oh, and you can now comment on the blog posts here.

I like how this new site is working out. Happy

Tweaks

Still smoothing out the wrinkles in the overall look of the site.

When the new look went live a few days ago it was actually a mistake, I meant to publish to a test folder. When I realized I had accidentally overwritten the old site I figured that I may as well announce it.

Since then I’ve been doing minor, daily updates and I think I’ve reached a point that I’m ready to let it sit until I have new images to add.

For those wondering, I’m using software called
RapidWeaver. It allows for a fairly simple way to build and update a site quickly. I tweaked the CSS in one of the built in themes to get the look I like, and I’m using a plugin called Blocks for the content layout on a number of the pages.

The primary reason for the change was that the old website didn’t work properly in Internet Explorer. It was built using iWeb, and I liked the software, but the compatibility issue with IE grated on me for months. Another issue with the old site was that I had no way to dictate the size images were viewed at in the gallery, and I wanted them bigger. Now they are.

If you notice any typos, broken links, images that won’t load or any other problems I’d appreciate it if you
let me know.

New Website

Holy Moly!
It’s been forever since I’ve updated my website, and I figure it’s time for something completely new. So here it is.

I’ve been scheming and have some fantastic plans on the go. Models have been confirmed, flights scheduled and outfits purchased. I expect to be able to show off results by the end of March.

Of course, there are plenty of new photos right now. Here’s one of the lovely Kristin!

Also, I’ve been more active on twitter lately and posting new photos there. So if you want to be among the first to see the results of my most recent shoots then you should probably
follow me.
